Sister store to Urban Outfitters is following in its lead by opening up shop in the UAE

Floaty floral dresses, girlish sandals, and colourful cutesy accessories – Anthropologie is the stuff of dreams for women favouring boho attire. But did you know the US-born brand also boasts a homeware collection – and it’s (hopefully!) about to arrive in the UAE?
It was recently announced that an Anthropologie’s store will be opening within The Dubai Mall. While it hasn’t been confirmed yet, we’re hopeful that the homeware line will come along with it – especially since the store is set to be located nearby fellow high-street-fashion-turned-homeware-brand, Zara Home.
An opening date is yet to be announced, and eager shoppers have only been promised ‘soon’ as of yet. Currently, you can shop selected items online from the US e-commerce site, but hefty shipping fees apply. Plus, not all the range – especially sizely furniture items – are available for overseas shipping.

Anthropologie stocks both furniture and decorative interior buys
While it has all the home trinkets you could ask for – candles, jewellery trays, throw cushions – it also sells furniture, too. Think the likes of giant rugs and slouchy sofas. Follow Anthropologie’s Interior Instagram page at @anthroliving for a taste of what is to come.
The Anthropologie woman is a “creative-minded [and] has a sense of adventure.”
When a friend came to him with complaints over shopping for a style of clothes to suit women like her – creative, suburban, thirty-something – URBN (its parent company) chairman and president Dick Hayne had an idea. Anthropologie was created with her mind, hoping to appeal to thirty or forty-somethings who sees herself as a “creative-minded woman, who wants to look like herself, not the masses. She has a sense of adventure about what she wears, and although fashion is important to her, she is too busy enjoying life to be governed by the latest trends.”
Anthropologie is a higher price point than Urban Outfitters
Yes they are sister stores, but Anthropologie – which launched in 1992 in Wayne, Pennsylvania – comes at a slightly higher price point, as far as high street fashion goes. However, the price ranges are pretty similar when it comes to homeware, with both US site offering dollar brackets of $25-$500 . Let’s see how the UAE prices compare…
