Sponsored: Crate and Barrel brings us three new season collections – Modern Prairie, Urban Retreat and New Deco – for Fall 2020.

With every new season comes a fresh excuse to redecorate. With holidays coming to an end, temperatures on the decline, and children returning to school, we’re finally settling into Fall.
Be it a stand-out item to give your space a new lease of life or a complete interior renovation you desire, Crate and Barrel has exactly what you need – from the armchair that’s relaxing and stylish in equal parts to the finishing-touch ceramic vase you’ve been searching for.
And this season, there are three new stunning trends to choose from: Modern Prairie, Urban Retreat and New Deco. The first is all about bringing the subtle beauty of nature into your home in an understated yet luxe way. Urban Retreat, meanwhile, offers a poetic and serene alternative to city-living. And last but not least, the New Deco collection offers exactly that – all the quirk of the Art Deco era but with modern style (and small spaces) in mind.

Crate and Barell’s Fall Collections
Modern Prairie

A century on from the birth of the trend, Crate and Barrel has put a new spin on Prairie interiors. Bringing the beauty of the outdoors in, Modern Prairie relies on natural fabrics such as sustainable woods and ceramics and borrows from the subtle colour palette mother nature has to offer. This season, clay colours come into play, with terra cotta pieces popping against neutral stones and taupes.
In this new collection, you’ll find everything you need to bring the beloved trend into the modern life. Comfy corner sofas in classic low-set style, textured cushion covers in muted, earthy hues and decorative vases in burnished shades of brass, amber and bronze.

On our shopping list? The new Sculpt Chair (pictured above) that looks almost too good to actually sit on with curved lines and cut-out features; a standout buy from whichever way you look. And we love the shade – Spice –too. It offers a richer colour while remaining true to the traditions of the trend. Comprised of certified sustainable solid and laminated hardwood that has been kiln-dried, it’s responsibly made, too.
Urban Retreat

City life doesn’t have to mean constant chaos. Poetic and relaxed all at once, this trend is about designing a space to evoke feelings of content.
Crate and Barrel’s Urban Retreat collection is comprised of soothing sea shades, soft curves and cushioning fabrics that come together to ooze comfort. Rounded coffee tables and softened corners perfectly complement the calming colour wheel, too.
Take the Rouelle Channel Tufted Sofa (pictured below) that perfectly encapsulates all the above, cocooning you in with supple chenille upholstery and gentle, rounded shapes.

But our must-buys are the range of circular side and end tables – stylish yet soft silhouettes that are space saving, too.
New Deco

The Roaring Twenties is officially back, meaning it’s time Art Deco underwent a modern revival – and Crate and Barrel’s New Deco collection fits the bill. In the 1920s and 1930s, the decorative style was defined by bold contrasts, intricate embellishments, precise geometric shapes, and sleek elegance.
For 2020, sophisticated deco styles have been adapted to slot into small spaces; less embellishments, equal opulence and more practicality than ever before. The New Deco collection showcases monochrome design at their best, from the modern minimalist Josephine Curved Sofa to the stunning Mette Rug (pictured below).

But you don’t need to invest in full-sized furniture to nail the trend this Fall. Why not revamp your bar with the craft-inspired new drinks collection? From Brass Cocktail Shaker and Brass Drink Cooler to glasses in every shape and size to suit your drink, be sure to shop Crate and Barrel’s drinks range to add a touch of New Deco to your kitchen.
