Brass is the interior trend we’re embracing right now, and that’s because the luxe material adds both warm and glamour.

Here’s how to add the alloy metal material into your household:

Bronze mirror, Dhs1,800*, Uttermost at Interiors Furniture; Medium sized Luna vase, Dhs4,693.79*, Sieger by Furstenberg at White Almonds; Cactus decoration, Dhs720*, Al Huzaifa; Felicia side table, Dhs6,250*, Al Huzaifa

Bold shapes

Bring moody glamour to a space with some structural geometry tempered by a warm brass glow. Brass adds contrast to any graphic black and white and breaks up its visual rigour, especially when the metal has gained a patina and the colour begins to soften.

“You can combine brass with a variety of materials to create statement features,” says Anjali Goel, La Sorogeeka Interiors.

Onda vase, Dhs4,675*, Adriani & Rossi at Western Furniture; Stack cocktail table, price on request, Thomas Pheasant for Baker at Iconic Home; Dost lounge chair, Dhs6,000*, Rianne Koens at Urban Nest; Joplin table, Dhs16,579.50*, Indigo Living

Soften it up

If you want to incorporate brass and other metals into a room, keep the colour scheme fairly subdued, whether you go for neutrals, dark blues and jewel tones or light greys and blues.

Combine brass with organic materials, such as wood and marble to create a warm look.

Pendle glass with five lamps, Dhs1,999*, Home & Soul; Folio chandelier, price on request, Serip; Scandi wall sconce, Dhs7,713* (USD2,100)*, Articolo; Italian brass flower lamp, price on request, Maison Jansen at The Odd Piece

Bright mood

Brass reflects the light and opens up a space so what better way to use it than in your lighting fixtures. Combine the glimmering metal with a sculptural design for an instantly more luxurious look.

“Stick to clean lines and a matte finish for a more contemporary look or choose a highly polished, ornate piece to add some old school glamour,” advises interior stylist Ash Young.
