B Living UAE X Crate and Barrel│Delivering some of the biggest interior design trends of the summer, Crate and Barrel’s newest drop does not disappoint

Those who keep tabs on interior design trends will have seen the subtle rise of natural textures and neutral colour schemes since the spring season hit. But confirming that this a look that here’s stay all summer long, Crate and Barrel’s SS21 collection is bringing fresh layers of warmth into the home.
The collection has a focus on sunwashed naturals and warm neutral fabrics. With an emphasis on simple shapes and paired back design, the range is unpretentious and reminds us of times gone by. It’s particularly noteworthy for its distinct nod to ‘70s style, but with a modern attention to natural texture.

Living room

With practical and comforting designs, the sofas seem to have been created with ultimate relaxation in mind. Topping our favourite list is the modular Plateau Leather 2-piece sectional, pictured with the Armless Loveseat because it’s the perfect piece for summer evenings spent lounging with friends – particularly when paired with the peg-legged Staal Cast Aluminium Coffee table and a cosy rug.

Designed to be worn in, a few solid wooden bookcases such as the Olivier Dove Grey Bookcase are well-made and simple to leave space for personalisation. We’re slightly obsessed with the rounded shapes of the Louna Sofa as it would make a dreamy addition to Midsummer nights, but our standout piece for the living room, has got be the olive-green Merrick Swivel Chair, which makes a bold design statement and looks so comfortable!
Tableware

As we say goodbye to alfresco activities, our attention turns to hosting at home, and Crate and Barrel’s new tableware has us inviting our entire contact list over for lunch. Bringing fresh tones and organic shapes to our table spreads, casual dining experiences are made effortlessly stylish. The gorgeous Grove Dinnerware collection and Corlie Palm Placemats use burnt shades of amber, blue and red to give a cool rustic feel.

Particularly on-trend, we’re lusting fun indigo of the Pomona Serveware which is ideal for bringing a bright touch. But for those of you who prefer to keep things simple, the delicate Fern Ceramic collection nails that timeless and subtle natural look.
Bedroom

Crate and Barrel’s approach to bedroom design this season is simple and clean, which we love. The Lafayette Mist Upholstered Queen Bed looks effortlessly stylish with soft lines and peg legs. The grey upholstered fabric sets the zen tone for the rest of the room.

We’re also going to be updating our sheet collection that’s been consciously crafted from breathable hemp and organic cotton so it’s cool and on-trend. Top of our to-buy list is definitely the sunny Mellow bedding in Amber, which is warm in tone but made from quilted cotton so that it’s cool enough for those long, hot summer nights.
